DEADLINE EXTENDED – Call for Presenters and Performers

We are excited to announce that applications are open for TEDxYouth@ChavisWay, an independently organized TED event happening on April 12, 2025. Given the inspiring and valuable work you do with young people, we would love for you to share this application with youth between the ages of 10 and 19 who may be interested in speaking or performing at the event.

Applications are due by December 11th. The full application link can be found here: https://forms.gle/YUYTKB3zpUawSDHCA

What is TEDxYouth@ChavisWay?

TEDxYouth@ChavisWay is being curated by NC State Extension program #PassTheMicYouth in collaboration with Wake County 4-H, Alliance Health, and John Chavis Community Center. Our goal is to bring together bright young minds to give talks that are idea-focused to foster learning, inspiration and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter.

Talks will be filmed and edited and videos will be hosted on the TEDx YouTube channel. All speakers will be assigned a coach to guide them through the process of crafting a talk, from script to stage. Talks can be up to 8 minutes, on any topic related to the theme of Stories Beyond Boundaries, which celebrates the power and promise of youth to tackle complex issues, build bridges, and redefine what it means to be a catalyst for social change (note: the theme is open to each individual’s interpretation). Performances can be up to 5 minutes and can include original music, spoken word poetry, dance, and other forms of artistic expression.

When is TEDxYouth@ChavisWay?

TEDxYouth@ChavisWay is scheduled for April 12, 2025 at the John Chavis Memorial Community Center in Raleigh.

Other Questions?

We believe the voices of the youth with whom you work would be a valuable addition to the TEDx@ChavisWay stage. Additional information about this event can be found on our website and in the attached flyer. Videos of last year’s talks and performances can be accessed here
